About Us
Central Marketing Corporation (CMC) – Antigua & Barbuda
Who We Are
The Central Marketing Corporation (CMC) was established in 1973 under the Central Marketing Corporation Act to serve as the backbone of Antigua and Barbuda’s agricultural marketing system. For over five decades, CMC has been the trusted link between local farmers, agro-processors, and consumers, ensuring that fresh, high-quality produce reaches households, businesses, and institutions across the nation.
Our Mission
At CMC, our mission is to promote, facilitate, and improve the production, processing, and marketing of farm produce in Antigua and Barbuda. We are committed to:
Supporting local farmers by providing reliable access to markets.
Strengthening food security through sustainable agricultural practices.
Connecting consumers with fresh, nutritious, and affordable local produce.
Driving innovation in agro-processing and distribution.
What We Do
Market Access: We provide farmers with a dependable outlet for their crops, livestock, and fisheries.
Distribution: CMC ensures that local produce is available to supermarkets, wholesalers, and households.
Imports & Balance: While prioritizing local agriculture, we also manage imports to meet consumer demand.
Redevelopment Projects: A major $15 million redevelopment initiative is underway, creating hundreds of jobs and transforming CMC into a modern agro-industrial hub.
Community Impact: By bridging farmers and consumers, we strengthen rural livelihoods and national resilience.
Our Future
The Government of Antigua and Barbuda has invested in a new five-acre headquarters site to expand CMC’s capacity. This redevelopment will position CMC as a pillar of national food security and economic growth, supporting farmers, agro-processors, and consumers with modern facilities and services.
